Sauer-Beckmann Farmstead
Experience Hill Country Living, circa 1918
We love recommending attractions that demonstrate things our guests otherwise do not see every day. You might find it hard to believe how Texas hill country residents lived in the early 1900s. This living history farm features livestock, many old farm structures, and interpreters wearing period clothing. In addition to the early German-Texas architecture, we especially appreciate the farm's large vegetable garden; the bountiful produce here seems to appreciate the fertile riverside soil. Find many great photo opportunities around the farm. (We enjoy watching the chickens and roosters.) This venue should be entertaining for all ages.
Nearby, for a look at what life was like around the ranch in a later era, consider visiting the nearby LBJ State Park headquarters.
Located about a ten minute drive from the Ridgeview Guest House.
